Research and verification concepts

Understand the ideas. Examine the evidence.

Research-oriented explanations of SEVA’s controlled-election architecture and the limits of current implementation evidence.

These topics explain design concepts and review questions. Source modules and planned safeguards are not independent audits, certification or proof of a complete secure election. SEVA remains pre-release and unsuitable for live elections.

Identity separation and blinded credentials

The design separates supervised eligibility checks from cast ballots and includes blind-token issuance primitives. Review integration, timing, logs and device behavior; the existence of a token primitive does not prove end-to-end unlinkability.

Encryption and trustee authority

Source includes encryption and threshold-related primitives, with a design that distributes decryption responsibility. Review actual ceremony wiring, key custody and failure cases. Do not claim the entire operational process is independently verified.

Ballot validity and cast-or-audit

Well-formedness and cast-or-audit concepts aim to make ballot construction reviewable without disclosing a cast choice. Separate primitive tests from kiosk integration, printed evidence and an independently exercised verification path.

Paper evidence and reconciliation

Paper is an architectural evidence boundary, requiring custody, reconciliation and human procedures. A receipt screen or export function does not establish a completed evidence chain or a certified auditing method.

Append-only records and controlled lifecycle

The source includes hash-chain and lifecycle models, with no egress intended during Open or Paused. These are useful review points, but they do not alone prove deployment-wide access control, firewall enforcement or resilience.

Verification maturity and open release gates

Independent verifier integration, adversarial testing, mock-election coverage, recovery rehearsal and external review remain material acceptance questions. Describe research and source evidence honestly, and keep planned or incomplete verification separate from demonstrated results.
